Mass Transfer and Equipment Design

Separation fundamentals through to equipment sizing and full scale plant simulation. Vapour liquid equilibrium, flash distillation, binary and multicomponent distillation, gas absorption and liquid liquid extraction, with Aspen Plus used alongside the hand calculations.

Binary Distillation

McCabe Thiele built from the beginning. Stages step themselves down the column, the reflux ratio moves the operating lines as you drag it, and the minimum reflux pinch is drawn exactly where the q line meets the equilibrium curve.
